View Full Version : 302 exhaust, cam, intake help

I have a 1995 f150 xl with a 302. Im turning 16 in a month so I want to start some work. I've ready started some but I want more.
I'm going to free up the exhaust, I think there are 3 cats on this thing. Might just get rid of all of them and go mani back straight pipe or super 10's
Now my expensive plans, cam the truck,
Do I really need new headers or are stock fine?
Maybe a different intake Mani, any good suggestion? Maybe a BBK twin intake, and I think that's good enough.
What cam should I look into?

Also, what is te stock exhaust pipe size?
I was thinking about going 3" all the way back from the headers but I'm not sure what to do.

How does straight pipe from manifold collector, so cut off muffler and cats, straight pipe, put a flow master super 10, then add a turn down.
Sounds simple to me, is there anyway I could do that without having to weld anything?

Ditch the EFI and go to carbureted. Cheaper way to make power.

How would I do that?!
Get a intake Mani from a mustang 5.0 and instead of fuel rail just a line in carb?

So much wrong in this post.. It is NOT easier to make HP with a carb, not is it cheaper in these trucks..

Agreed. Fuel injection is the power maker. Find a trick flow intake fer ur 5.0. As on the mustang. Do not change to a carb.

Don't even have to do that unless going over 300 whp. I'm at 300 right now with the stock truck intake, just the lower is port-matched to my trick flow track heat heads

Ya stick with the injection. Switching to a carb setup is definitely not the way to go.

Even if ur tubbin the rear, bad ass tremec with a lightning rod shifter keep fuel injection
Considerably more efficient and the throttle response can't be matched with a carb
