question about little black box on rearview mirror

i was looking at my rearview and i noticed a little black box on the mounting arm with a connector hooked into it...its completely closed off no sensors or anything and what looks to be a little circut board on the inside...is my truck prewired for an autodim mirror? or is it related to the autolamps?

Usually its your compass positioning. Does your truck have that? I assume so since you have the box for it.

That is the compass\module . It just displays on the mirror
