Hey guys,

I'm looking to program my ecoboost because I keep hearing about how good the tunes are and people are seeing a lot of gains from them. I was looking at either the EDGE CTS or the SCT. What's your preference? I hear more about the SCT then any others but EDGE still has some good reviews. Not to mention the BA touchscreen gauge display that comes with EDGE CTS. Just wondering what other opinions are before I spend $500-600.

Thanks for the help in advance.

I'm not very familiar with the edge, but most of the custom tuners are using the SCT for the starting point.

I'll jump up to a SCT and a custom tune when I get around to selling my SuperChips flashpaq.

Ya there's a tuning company that uses the SCT platform that got just shy of 500 lbft of torque out of an all stock EB and like 365 HP to the ground. Pretty impressive if you ask me. I'd think with a good intake and exhaust system they could put 400 HP to the pavement

That should put a 5000# V6 truck in the mid 13's which IMO is bad fast considering the size of the vehicle!

Ya they said they had it at 23lbs of boost, but brought that back down around 20 and put some spark advance in it and made a little more power than with the higher boost. These motors are pretty dang impressive handling that kind of boost.

That company is unleashedtuning.com! Torrie builds great tunes and has great customer service! That truck you speak of went 13.66 in the 1/4 with the 87 tune from torrie! Said he didn't realize he had the wrong tune on the truck til later. I run his 93 tune on my truck all the time and the performance gains are quite noticeable! I have also seen a large increase in my MPG since the tune, I put bigger wheels and tires on, with 3.15 gears, and even with the sct 87 tune I only was getting about 13.6 mpg. Since I installed torries 93 tune I have averaged 17.5 over the last 1800 miles. And yes my speedo was corrected when I was getting the 13.6!

Go with SCT, edge isn't anywhere near the same level. Find a company that custom tunes and buy directly from them.

As far as which hand-held programmer is better, they both do the same thing as far as editing A/F, knock, etc. The deciding point for you guys would be the displays, price, and/or your local dealer. I bought an SCT XCal3 custom tuned from a Ford specialist in Tallahassee for $399.99 no tax
