Right now I run a straight pipe on my truck, but I need to put a muffler on it. Doesnt have to be functional, I just need to have one there for visual. I was gonna buy a Dynomax Ultra flow. Does it make any difference sound wise if it's an oval muffler or a round muffler? I dont think I've ever seen a round one on a truck, only ricers. The reason I ask is the round one is like $15 cheaper. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

R u puttin it on fer looks?!? U pass inspection er somethin? Round is good for more back pressure. Little louder at some points oval is a standard tone. Run a butter fly. Hit the switch and let it dump. Sounds good too.

Yeah I need to pass an inspection. They dont care if it's loud, I just need a muffler period. I know I could just get anything, but I figure if i'm gonna buy a muffler I should just get something I like that way if i ever need it on for a long period,it sounds nice.

Does a glass pack count as a muffler in your state? If you get one size over your pipe size it will just slip over it and have the appearance of muffling, but still technically have straight pipes

Im not sure if it does or not. I'll have to look into it. I dont need to do it for a little bit so I have time to research options. Thanks for that idea! Oh an I used to have a flowmaster super 10 and it honestly didnt sound any louder then my stock muffler. It's only 6 inches, but man does it make a difference

An I know a super 44 an a super 10 are alot different, but my understanding was that the super 10 was the loudest they have
