chrome accessories

Do chrome accessories rust? Or heard of them rusting? I.e. rocker panels, door handles, door pillars..if they can what are some products out there that can help prevent it?

What year truck? Most of the chrome on newer vehicles is plastic so there's no threat of rust.

Just saw your other post. There are several chrome polishes out there that will also put a layer of protection on the chrome. There are some more intense protection compounds out, but I just keep anything clean and dry and it should stay nice for a long time.

Turtle Wax Chrome Polish, use it on my front and rear bumpers and takes off any pitting or rust with ease.

Most "chrome" accessories aren't actually chrome. The door handle covers, etc are injection molded plastic

Yeah, like how you pay extra for "chrome wheels" that are just metal with the chrome looking plastic covers on them. Only chrome left is bumpers and exhaust tips. Unless you get custom stuff.

I'm not, I'm just saying its stupid how they charge you hundreds extra for "chrome" and you get plastic, kind of a rip off is all lol.

Oh how I am a fan of chrome (on other peoples vehicles) but on mine. Less is better IMO I have chrome bumpers but one day that will change. I wanna make my own if I could ever find the time.
