97 XLT - owned about 2 weeks

I'm still on my first tank and I'm thinking/curious, if installing a Performance Chip would help gas mileage ["For just $69.95 get 10+mpg improvement... better than sliced bread..."]. I don't do wheelies, I don't haul 16 ton. But if the gas gage/odometer is right - I'm getting 12 mpg. Or just a tune-up?????

I don't know if the $69.95 special would be that great. I'd save up and get a real tuber with multiple tuning options. You can get a decent tuner that will make 4X the power for a couple hundred bucks. And as long as you keep the foot out of it you should see some mileage gains too
