Ecoboost Intake

So I noticed the Ecoboost intake on the bottom of the truck. I'm still doing my research on this engine and id like to know if its going to be a problem offroading in water or mud. A friend told me that intake is just to cool the air that helps cool the turbos. Let's say my truck is in water and the intake is underwater...will this be a problem?

Its not in intake- its an aftercooler. its lowers the core air charge temp after being pressurized by the twin turbos. it is completely sealed. water would actually help cool it down. The actual intake is right where its always been- under the hood next to the drivers fender
