My truck didn't come with a bumper that had fogs. You guys have any idea if there is existing wiring I can just tie into from the factory? I just don't feel like looking right now and I have found a pretty sweet deal on one.

First hint would to see if your headlight switch has a "pull for fogs" label on it. Secondly, see if you have a relay inside the junction box under the hood. Lastly, see if there is a pigtail clipped to the underside of your bumper.

Thanks. I did a little more research and it seems to be straight forward. I figured I would have to do some wire routing of my own (no big deal seeing as that is what I do for a living). I don't have a switch in the truck or the other things so....looks like I may have a weekend project on my hands.

I really like these switches. They are the V-series Conturas made by Carling Industries, you might be familiar with them. Very clean looking, I use them in my airplane!

I like those a lot. Added plus is it would dummy proof it for my wife if she ever happened drive it. LOL.

Yup. I plan to buy a few of them and replace the no-name, cheap, unmarked switches I have. Here is where I found them:

I had the same situation on mine. I just hooked up a relay and set my fogs to come on automatically with my brights. No switches, but that is just an option if you were interested.

Exactly what I was thinking too but I was going to use my low beams. The convenience of them on a switch is nice though.

I'm looking at paying $150 for a mint bumper no lights though. You think that is a good deal?

I think its a great price for something in mint condition. You will have to still get the fog lights and housings to mount them. You will also need to make sure you get nut clips as well.

What are these nut clips you speak of? I found on LMC the housings and lights with hardware.

The hardware should include the clips. Maybe they are not called that, but they clip over the edges of the bumper where the screws go for mounting the brackets. Kind of a bigger version of what is used for speakers.

Ok, I looked it up in LMC part #40-0940 U-NUT

WTF? why would you have your fog lights come on with high beams?? thats contradictory to the purpose of high beams...

Because where I live, there really is no fog. I use them as an extra set of headlights as needed.

FYI you'll see better if you shut them off when high beams are engaged. You're just causing your cones to dilate on the foreground lighting which is killing your down the road visibility

I will have to mess with them and see what looks best.
