Hmm buy a new truck for $30,000+ or put a $2000 trans in this one. That math doesnt add up to me.

If I buy a brand new one I'll keep it for like 5 years

Good luck with that one. What is the reasoning behind just getting you a new truck? More power to you guys if you have the money to swing it. I think most of us are just thinking from a working mans perspective. So just curious.

You deserve that truck? I'm curious what you've done that makes it so you deserve that truck. I dont think putting a new tranny and starter in your current truck means you deserve a brand new one. Im just saying, seems like a dumb thing to say

yah just get a tranny

----------

yeah I dont think you "deserve" a new lariat lol. If so, then go get the loan for one!. not being mean, but you wont get sympathy if your parents paid for your truck, just the way it usually is on the forums. I only wish my mom could have bought me a truck, but I make more $$ and am doing better than she is, but had to work my butt off to get there. For me to even have a lariat, I had to buy an 8 year old truck

My parents bought my truck, part was their money and part was inheritense from my grandmother, but I would never go back and tell them I deserve a new truck. I'm very grateful for what I have and if something went wrong with it i would fix it myself as I have already done with a few minor things. I don't know you and I dont know your financial situation, but from my viewpoint you seem like an ungrateful person. You may not be, but from what you're saying, it seems like it.
