I have a 2011 and my low tire pressure light is constantly coming on. I went to ford and they say it's the cold weather. I have nitro in my tires and I have to go all the way to Ford to get light cleared. Anyone else having this issue? Anyone know how to get light turned off without going to Ford?

----------

By the way, it's 72 degrees so it's not cold. There goes that theory!

Are your tires set at factory spec or at a different pressure

I have no idea!! I assume factory!

Have you checked the tire pressure?

Yes, i brought to ford on Friday. They said pressure was fine and because of cold weather. They said low pressure light can only be cleared at Ford.

That is true it is a ford specialty tool req to reset lights ask them to check for a faulty sensor and have them scan it there might be a code

It can be the spare tire is low.

^^ this. Pure Nitrogen doesnt change pressure with temperature

And nitro has a heavier molecular weight so if doesn't leak out near as fast through minute holes or the bead.

I would guess you have a bad sensor, or it is going bad. Next time it's out, have them find the correct one and replace it.

Since your truck is a 2011 I'm going to assume that your truck has tmps (tire pressure monitoring system) this is a small sensor in each tire's valve stem. If a tire is low it will usually let you know which one it is. Every manufacturer has problems with this system, so it shouldn't be anything new to the mechanics.

X2 on a low spare tire or tmps sensor going bad.

Not possible with current tech to achieve pure nitrogen in tires. Costco had the reset tools and don't charge anything. Good idea to run your pressures a couple psi higher in winter
