I have a 2007 5.4 4x4 Lariat. And when the trans downshifts From overdrive i get a shudder. Also have limited slip rear axle. Any suggestions.

On Mine it wasn't the transmission, although at idle and slow speeds the engine appeared to run, it was a bad coil pack.

Not sure aboutthat. I am dealing with teaks problems right now. Think it is slipping gears at 45 mph. Thankfully under warrenty so its at the dealer right now.

If its what I think it is at 45 can you feel it in the pedal, like a shaking/lurching and also hear it in the engine? Happens to me when I'm at around 45 mph but not giving it enough gas. I believe it's not a problem with the transmission but rather it's just the torque converter going in and out of lock-up (which is bad cause it'll burn it up). Just let off the gas and let it downshift and then speed up to around 50 so you're in O/D but not lurching.

That might actually be it. I talked to the dealer today and they were not able to get it to happen on a few test drives. Don't tecall beeping it in the pedal though.

It might be and maybe you don't feel it in your pedal. But it just sounded similar to what happens to me so I just thought I'd throw it out there.

Well turned out I have a cylinder that is mis-firing. Should have it back tomorrow morning!
