View Full Version : Replacing side mirrors ??

I was wondering can I replace my factory automatic side mirrors with some tow mirrors? Is it just a switch and replace type deal. Also I was wondering could I get the turn signal tow mirrors to work with my truck I currently have regular automatic side mirrors without the turn signal. Thanks

Yes, you can just swap them out. Find the tow mirrors with lights from your model year. Bolts up the same way and you should have the wires in the door already to hook up the turn signals.

Cool. I was thinking that they could bolt up the same way I was wondering if it had the turn signal wires already there.

I swapped tow mirrors on to my 05 and there is s bit of wire swapping in the mirror harness to get them to work right. Tow mirrors didnt come out until 2007 and the wiring is slightly different in the mirrors from 07+ so they arent exactly plug and play. My 05 is a lariat so I already had power, heated and turn signals, not sure if yours will be pre-wired for turn signals or not. They are worth the swap, I LOVE my tow mirrors.

Sweet truck. So what if I get the regular towing mirrors without turn signal, heating, etc would i still have to wire them up or just leave the plug by itself hanging around.

Thanks! Yeah if you got the manual only mirrors the plug would just not be plugged into anything, shouldnt hurt anything.
