It depends on what system you get. Has to be the right amount of flow. Too little chokes your engine and you lose power, too much and you lose torque. For just performance with a nice tone, either Magnaflow or Borla. For a loud sound with good performance, Flowmaster.

I have the 40 Series SI/DO muffler on my '05 4.6L V8. It is loud and the performance is definitely better than stock.
