8.8 what? And what engine and gear ratio do you currently have? 4.2, 4.6, or 5.4, and 3.55 or 3.73? You'll probably need at least 4.10, or for 38's, a 4.56 gear ratio would probably work the best.

Which engine? Personal opinion is..

4.6 = 4.56 gear
5.4 = 4.10

Well first off. I would get rid of that 8.8. Look for a 2000-03. Try and find a 9.75 sterling 4.10 gear with a locker. Came with my 03. Solid. That little 8.8 is killin u with them big sneakers

What would be your guys opinion on a 2006 with the 5.4, what ratio would you want for 35s and what would you want for 38s?

3.73 would probably be enough for 35's, maybe a 4.10 for 38's if you have the 5.4L.

Stupid question, but what is the 8.8 referring to? I feel like an idiot.

Ya you'll probably need to step up. I don't think gears alone will remedy that.
