Auto trans. Just put a tune up on it. No power as in wont spin a tire, has trouble pulling a trailer. Just not the power I expected from a 351. I've got an 86 f150 with the 300i 4.9 in it an it will out do the 88 anyday

Check your fuel pressure.. What gear does it have? Check your basics..

Also how many miles are on it?

Man if you done all that then I would check the converter on exhaust to see if its plugging up! Sounds like a good candidate to me! Let us no if this helped. If it is this would cause lack of power at the wheels!

What 351 is it, modified, Cleveland or the Windsor??? from what I've been told the Cleveland is a good small block, Windsor is the good big block and the modified was gutless and not well designed!!!

Are you kidding me??? Please stop..

After 81 the only 351 cubic inch available is a Windsor.

Cleveland's were never in trucks and stopped production in the US in 1974..

And the 351M doesn't stand for Modified.. It stands for........ Nothing at all.. It's just to set it apart..

Ford doesn't use small block big block notations.. But people often group them that way anyways..

The Windsor would be a small block..

The Cleveland would tech be small block cause it shares the same bell housing pattern as a Windsor. But nothing else.

The 351m/400 are taller versions of the 351C but have a 429/460 bell housing.. So they're a bastard child..

The 351M can make tons of power.. Just stock form was so smogged and poorly setup for emissions it never will in stock form..

Fuel pressure is good it has 100k. I have no clue the ratio I've thought that might be part of the problem because it is not low geared at all. An I really don want to get into changing the gears inside the chunks because it is a 4x4 wich means double the money. That kinda stuff is cheap haha

Havnt checked the exhaust yet. I've had cars before that the cats have gotten stuffed up an they run rough but this truck runs great. It has from what I think are glass pacs on it for the exhaust but the cat is stock

That's why I would recommend you have it checked to eliminate that possibility. I had one plug up on me in a dodge with 360 had no power thought the tranny was going out. New catalist and new found power !!
