Would 285's fit?

I have 265's right now and want to go up to 285's would there be a lot of rubbing? It's a 2001 f150 4x4

Nope. They'll be fine. U can put a 305 under and b fine

How many inches are 285s about and how many are the 305s???

285's should be about 33 and 305's 34

Just put on some 285 cooper ATP. Fits really well about half in of clearance before rubbing
