Hey guys! I'm new to posting on this. I have a 2010 f150 fx4 currently at 61k (I know a lot of milage, but I'm young and love my truck :). Anyways, Brought it to ford the other day for the reg oil change an they told me I needed a power steering and brake fluid flush for a total of $340.00 CAD. The fluids are dirty but I feel like they see me coming. I never got it done at the time I booked another apt but may cancel that too after reading through the forums. For power steering... If I turkey baste out the old fluid and refill with new would that be just as good?... Totally open to opinions for that and what to do with brake fluid flush... Thanks!

Power steering shouldn't be an issue. As far as I know, the fluid in my 05 is 8 years old and has 61xxx miles on it, still looks clean. Brake fluid might need changed, but it should be age as I just changed mine for the first time 2 weeks ago.

Hey man. Welcome to the forum. Ford has a guideline they like to follow. A service schedule. I've always followed mine. But to answer your question. Ur brake fluid will last a very long time. Your power steering will do the same. U can put that off for awhile.

And removing some of the fluid and replacing it with new fluid will help, but it'll have to be flushed eventually unless you want to replace your power steering pump or master cylinder for your brakes.

Welcome to the Forum btw and nice choice in trucks!

More like 80,000 IMO Fords maters r pretty tuff. That happins at 250 k. Lol. Power steering may whine but that's usually the box itself. But mine is an 03. Yours is a 10. I wouldn't worry about it now unless ur noticing something. 80-85 k

Thanks guys! I will be holding off. My breaks are still amazing. I have the maintenance package. I think they are down to 5mm now. They changed @ 3mm. Ill hold off for a little whole longer And maybe get a private garage to do a flush when the time comes to save some money...
