Hi all, I'm new here, I wonder if may you guys could help with a few issues I have, I bought a '93 F150 4x4 this past weekend and it needs some work.
I will only address one thing at a time so here we go I am getting what I can only explain as an alarm it beeps five times then pause then beeps agian five times this happens five times in a row. This happens every time I start the truck and occasionally while driving, anyone have an idea what might cause this? Thanks in advance for any help

Is it the door chime? If so your door chime module is shorting out.. It's under the dash just to the right of the steerin wheel.. About a 4"x4" black box.. Just in plug it and go

If the door switch is unplugged it won't cause an issue only if the switch is bad.. It ain't hard to disconnect it.. But easier to disconnect the dinger thing

Thanks for the replies, the door switch has been unplugged but I will look for that box and get it out of there.

Your airbag warning light bulb on the dash is blown and it is designed to give an audible alarm when the bulb is burnt.pull the instrument cluster out and replace the bulb

That makes sense, the beeps are coming from the left side of the dash instead of the right and have a different tone than when you put the key in.

yeah but i think Air bags didnt come in these trucks till 94.. i know 92 didnt have em.. im pretty sure that 93 dont either..

a quick research shows what i thought was true the F150's didnt get airbags till 94.. the F250 and F350 didnt get them till 99 i think.. Rangers and explorers were 95 im fairly certain..

If it's a 93, it won't have airbags. 1994 was the first year Ford put airbags in their trucks

It could be seat belt warning?

I don't think they had that for the 93 either...it's probably the door chime.

I first thought seat belts but I'm sure if it has that feature

It does have a driver side airbag and according to the title it is a '93, I've been busy making more urgent repairs but today while I was changing the shift tube I noticed the light bulb for the airbag is missing from the interment panel so I will put that in tomorrow and hopefully that annoying dinging will stop.

That could be it, hopefully it is as that's an easy fix. Goodluck!!

Could you send me some pics of your motor so I can see how they go.
