2005 f150 can't figure out witch is bad either motor or switch. Drive side nothing lights up but lock part is very dim passenger is bright. Took passenger side and try it on the drive and it wouldn't do nothing. My only other guess is a short some where but don't want to hear that. Any ideas. Thanks

I'm a little confused as to what you're talking about. Lights? Or switches? Window motors?

Well I think. That they r separate parts. L and r. I think. I'd have to research that. But not fer nothin. Did u get it wet? Or r the window keys spot of illumination dirty? Lil bit of grime can make them look dim.

Power windows driver side doesn't work at all it used to if the door was opened at a certain way bit its gone completely now

Fords window switches are notorious for stopping working. It could be the contact points inside that's causing you to get no power. Just take the switch apart and clean them.

Then it's unfortunately probably the motor.

Check them with a volt meter to be sure. But I think Ryno is correct

Connecting wires could be bad too, you said it worked at a certain angle when the door was open, so that might be it. But first do what Joe said and check the motor.

If the motor is bad would it make the switch nit light up either

No, the switch is powered by the battery, not the window motor. That's why I said it might be faulty wiring. You said it used to work at certain angles if the door was open, and now you say the switch works for sure, but you have no light. That means the switch isn't getting any power. So it might be the wiring. Test your fuses for that switch as one might be blown, if not a fuse, it's probably a wiring issue.

I'm leaning more towards wires issue but don't want to hear that but didn't know if anyone else had the issue or something

I had one switch that had bad contacts causing an over amping witch in turn burnt wire into where it went from door to jam? Took a little digging to find but when you find it no dout!

You can test switch with continuity tester and put 12v straight to motor to see if works!

Yeah I have an '05 too, but mine was just bad contact points and some faulty switches, not the wiring.

There is power going to the door cause mirrors and lock and unlock work but no window took drivers switch and try it on passengers and it did the same thing no lights or power. Just confusing me sense IV bought a switch and returned it cause it was doing the same so I'm at a total loss

Like it was all fine then it was like no lights on whole driver side but got power except on window

Possibly two bad switch you got, if not you might have a short which is causing just the window controls to not work, but allows the door locks and mirrors to.

Just crazy cause no lights on it and mirror control lock unlock. Lol and all this happened after I let my old lady put interior cleaner on my door but she didn't do anything other then that

Maybe a short like I said. Do a voltage test on your wires to see if that's it.

No problem, hopefully you can find the problem and it's an easy fix. Good luck!

IV noticed that the passenger lock unlock doesn't light up and Pope's open the driver side switch to see if any of the solder was missing off anything and it kinda looks like one part is but not sure plus don't have a tester so that's waiting till tomorrow night and going from there

Soldering is another possible thing, didn't think of that lol. I know thats what happened to the backlight in my dashboard. Has to be re-soldered when I get the time.
