What da world lol

BFEB
03-03-2013, 09:13 PM
Idk. I guess it's supply and demand. Not enough demand so they don't supply. I could buy it from the engine shop, but it'd be a drum at a time.

encfxxx4
03-03-2013, 09:17 PM
Lol I get a lot of crap about running 93, but hey it's my money lol

BFEB
03-03-2013, 09:26 PM
I did a lot of figuring before I switched to "premium" and I get enough of a bump in mileage that its worth the extra cost. For me at least.

encfxxx4
03-03-2013, 09:32 PM
That extra 1 too 2 mpg help that all I run! My wife's car ( 02 nissan Altima v6) has run 93 , tells you on the gas cap lol

RhinoZ24
03-03-2013, 10:27 PM
No 93 out here, just 91. I think it has to do with what Dan said, supply and demand.

Jersey_Joe
03-04-2013, 06:42 AM

I'm sure your tuner has a good tune for some 93

RhinoZ24
03-14-2013, 12:16 PM
A custom one maybe, the top one only requires 91, but it says you'll probably get better results with higher octane. I'm probably going to keep in in Level 2 (towing) because i can run 89 like I usually do and that'll give me the best combo of power and economy according to a lot of the reviews I read. Level 3 (high performance) will be for when I need to put the ricers back in their place lol. I might toy with Level 3 to see if my mileage is any better or worse to see if it's worth paying extra for 91 octane.

Jersey_Joe

Ha. Ull keep it 3 fer awhile. It's to much fun. Lol

Yeah well as long as us Americans continue to allow our government to **** on us it'll stay just the way it is until they decide to raise it again. Sad day when the rag heads fuel is only like $.50 a gallon and we are the ones buying it from them. This sucks ass. Too bad I'm not president.

Haha yeah you can't fill even a quarter of your tank for $20 anymore. If gas was still that cheap I'd be taking road trips all the time. And honestly I don't ever see the government changing or getting better. Especially with my generation coming up. This country is super-f***ed. I'll admit, I'm ashamed to be in my generation due to its lack of thought about what they do and vote for. No thoughts about what it'll do in the future.

RhinoZ24

Coming from V6 Rangers (5 of them to be exact) dont expect better mileage from them. None of mine ever averaged better than 17-18 mpg's. The F150's especially the newer ones actually get the same or better mileage.

That and we have the biggest market for cars. Oil companies know that, so they can raise gas prices all they want, because they know no matter how much we complain, we're still going to have to buy it. They basically bend us over a table if you know what I mean. It's stupid too because we have a bunch of offshore oil rigs and a bunch of oil fields here so it should be cheaper, but no.

Its ok for a car, I hate cars but the savings is making up for it. Its nice not having to worry about making extra trips into town and crap like that. I realized I was enjoying my truck less and less because of worrying about gas. This car has put the fun back into driving my truck when I do drive it.

BFEB

I've considered doing the same, but there's no way I can do the compact car thing. The dealer gave us a focus while we waited for my ol ladies car to be delivered and being as big as I am it was extremely uncomfortable. I'd have to get something mid sized if I were to do that.

I was surprised how comfortable this car is for my size, Im 6'1" so leg room is important. I can see how it would be tight width wise If I was wider than I am. What I really miss is the storage in the interior though, I have no where to keep my pistol or even a pair of gloves.

Ya length was not the issue. Being a broad shouldered guy does not make the focus pleasant at all. I felt like I took up about 55% of the car instead of the "usual" 40%.

It's sad when a car has a glovebox that can't even fit gloves lol

RhinoZ24
03-26-2013, 07:28 AM
Maybe I'll be able to buy 91 and use the performance mode of my programmer lol.

BFEB
03-26-2013, 08:55 AM
It's only like 5-7 bucks a tank more a tank for the 91 so just eat one less fast food meal per fill up and run the good tune.

RhinoZ24
03-26-2013, 10:55 AM
No I'm fat lol jk. It probably won't be all the time, only when I wanna race people.

BFEB
03-26-2013, 11:18 AM
Just my opinion, but I'd run it most of the time so you don't have to go back and forth on fuel and possibly run into an issue from switching constantly.

RhinoZ24
03-26-2013, 12:12 PM
Good point, I don't know though, I'm going to mess around and see what works best for my truck and my driving. I still have to connect the damn thing anyways lol.

Jersey_Joe
03-26-2013, 12:57 PM
91 or better in performance and rowing

RhinoZ24
03-26-2013, 12:59 PM
It says 87 for towing anything higher is better, but I usually run 89 anyways.

BFEB
03-26-2013, 02:19 PM
Idk bout you, but I'd rather avoid having to row my truck lmao

RhinoZ24
03-26-2013, 02:25 PM
^Lmao

BFEB
03-26-2013, 03:49 PM
You would save gas tho lol

lee reece
03-26-2013, 04:13 PM
So I'm going to ask then if you run 100% gas @ 87 or 10% ethanol @ 87 you will get better mileage but how will it affect programmer? I would think it keeps going up on mileage or should run 100% gas all time?

Sent from my iPhone using F150 App

BFEB
03-26-2013, 04:43 PM
I try to avoid ethanol when possible. I get way better mileage when I stay away from corn gas

Jersey_Joe
03-26-2013, 04:53 PM
Me too. Bad for hp

RhinoZ24
03-26-2013, 06:35 PM
Yeah it's bad all around, go with 100% gas.

BFEB
03-27-2013, 06:19 AM
The 10% stuff is bad for power, but if you have FFV (flex fuel vehicle) capability and don't care about the crappy mileage E85 is awesome. Make an average of around 10-15 more ponies because of how well it burns. And the fact that its (don't quote me on this) like 100 octane. It's similar to why top fuel dragsters run alcohol fuel. It's great for power, but nothing else lol

RhinoZ24
03-27-2013, 07:18 AM
I should convert my truck to alcohol...lol

BFEB
03-27-2013, 08:25 AM
Only if you plan on eating A LOT more fuel

RhinoZ24
03-27-2013, 05:11 PM
