4.2-5.4 swap

Ok guys and gals New user here and I've got a big question and possibly a problem. Have a 97 f150 sport side w/4.2 manual trans. Engine is blown and trans is in the dump. Was give free run to dismantle and use whatever I need to from a 06 f150 5.4 auto. Can a swap be done. How much hell am I looking at to put 5.4 and auto trans into the 97 what else beside the engine trans and harness. Will the steering column work in the 97. Or am I just screwed trying to make this work. Please help!!!!

This is thread i used when i swapped a 98' 5.4 in for my locked up 02' 4.6.
It is very detailed and helpful thread. From what I understand you would need to swap over a ton and it would be severe butt kicking if even possible.
