1) Someone got stuck in a ditch today and I offered to help, my GVWR is 6900lbs the hitch is 6000lbs rated, what kind of tow rope would i need? My GVWR, what im rated to tow or does it even matter.
2) i read somewhere that the object you're towing should not exceed GVWR. Then why is it im rated to tow 11,300 lbs?

The GVWR is the max allowable (safely) amount of weight that can be put on your vehicle, including the vehicle itself, passengers, and anything in the bed (hauling). That number excludes trailers and towing amounts. That's why you can tow 11,300. The hitch label of 6,000 pounds is the max weight on the tongue of the trailer pushing down on the hitch itself. It's not to exceed that number. But since trailers have wheels the weight is dispersed so that if you were towing your max 11,300 lb, the tongue weight would be much less. Your truck is more than capable of towing out another stuck truck and any tow strap should do the job, just check the weight limit of it when buying to see its tensile limits to make sure it can handle the weight of the other truck. But most tow straps are pretty strong.

Base curb weight (weight of truck) + payload capacity (people, things in bed) = maximum truck can handle. (GVWR)
GVWR + maximum trailer weight = GCWR
The combined weight of the towing vehicle (including hitch, passenger, cargo) and the loaded trailer must not exceed the Gross Combination Weight Rating (GCWR). Your GCWR is 13,500 (3.31 gears)or 14,900 (3.55 gears)
