Okay so I have a 2012 ford f150! I have done some research online and it seems like a lot of people are having the same issues I am having if you use an iPhone. My device keeps coming up as unsupported. With the research I have done, the software on the iPhone and sync don't mix very well. Ford is blaming apple and apple is blaming ford. Anyone here have this problem?? The only way to fix it is by pulling the sync fuse from what I have read.

Well I have had a few glitches in my 500 but it always works. It may call someone else by accident. But that's the only prob I've ever had. iPod and all my apps work great. Sorry I couldn't be of help

What is it actually not doing for u?

Which iPhone you have? Mine was glitchy with the 4, but I've had no issues whatsoever since I got the 5. Maybe a software update for both sync and iPhone are available to correct older glitches.

I have the iPhone 4. It worked fine before and I have never had a problem. It all started one day when it tried to index. It said indexing........ For ten minutes then it came up "unsupported device" my Bluetooth still works and it still charges it. It's really weird.

So it's not playing my music. I can play no problm through the aux line in, just not USB.

I'm right there with u. I'm all apple. Even have the app radio fer apple in my 03. I'm with u with the five. But the only thing keeping me from gettin the five is the charger. I have so many things with the 30 prong charger. I'm not gonna give up now. Lol. I'm sure there is an adapter but. I feel ya homes. But it does do some cool stuff. Just that damn charger lol

There is an adapter, but its like $20. Seems pretty pricey to me. I just kept all my 30 pin stuff and switch out the cable to charge my older stuff

Let us know. I'm interested to see of there is a newer version of sync than what I've got and what the sync site says is the latest version

Typical answer, they said there was a firmware update for the sync system that is supposed to solve a lot of problems including the iPhone issue. We will see, if I have to bring it back. **** will hit the fan. Lol

Did they tell you the version number for the "newest" update?

Nope, but it didn't work. Now he is contacting for and saying they may need to replace the sync unit. Not impressed because I hate that a brand new dashboard has to be pulled apart. They never go back the same

So this is what the advisor got from ford in a nutshell.

Step 1: try a master reset. Did this but stil did not work.

Step 2: try a battery reset. Did this and it did work, but in my mind its only time till it happens again.

Step 3: replace sync unit.

This just goes to show they know there is a problem. In my mind it is an inconvenience for us to do a battery reset . They should be working on a resolution to solve this problem. I guess since the unit is made by Microsoft, that just speaks for itself.
