Neither am I ( changing from gas to coal power isn't a step up in any way, eco-wise), but the technology is absolutely amazing. As batteries get smaller, lighter, and more powerful, it might not be too long before the ultimate dragster will come with a charging cord.

Plus, the burnout the guy did was cool.....all tire and no engine sound.

Meh....I like engine sounds too, but the all rubber sound was kinda cool. Pure tire death. I bet it's a trip going 150+ mph and only hearing wind noise. Probably kinda spooky.

Very true that would be a weird experience, then again I've never gone 150+ mph before lol. 120 was my fastest (not in my truck lol). But yes it is amazing how powerful electric cars are becoming. The only issue is range, but they are going a lot farther. Definitely some innovation there.

They weren't so new after :) it chugged when given normal throttle.. It liked to be pushed..

She has a 1998 Dodge Viper GTS-R.. She can't fit in it anymore.. Last time she drove it she got sideways and it ended in a ditch with a trashed frame. It was worth about $350,000 as they only made 100 or so..

Two friends and I did 140+ in a Vette. We had been hitting the hooch, it was downpouring rain, and one of my friends was laying in the hatch area behind the seats. The speedo was past 140, and we were argueing its accuracy as we were flying (hydroplaning, really) down an empty stretch of highway.

I'm still not sure how I lived through my 20s and 30s. To this day I will be Super Dave Osbourne if enough alcohol is added to my tank.lol.

As for range on that Mustang, I bet it hardly gets out of sight on a charge. Then again I bet your average dragster doesn't have much range either.

The big boy dragsters have gas tanks the size of thimbles. No need to haul extra gallons down the track. Hauling less gas leaves room for more ass to haul.

Haha not that small. Those things have fuel lines the size of fire hoses almost. They suck up fuel. It takes a few gallons for that 1/4 mile.

My point exactly lol. Take into account the 3.5-4 second run and you need a lot of fuel. That's why the tanks are in the front though, weighs it down.

It's actually a small cell. They have calculated for the roll up. Burnout and launch and run. When that car crosses the trap line it's almost empty

It was, I've never had my truck times for a 1/4 mile. Just shot a number out there. I mean I did a 0-60 time and it was 8.something stock and 7.something with a mild tune.

While I'm sure it's fun, I want something to race and work on being the fastest. That's not what I want to do with my truck though, it's my DD and for when I need to haul stuff. I want a Mustang GT, preferably with the 5.0. But that's gunna be awhile. I want to move out first and I don't have money to do both unless I sell my truck and make payments on a Mustang, and that's not happening at this point in my life.

He has an Edge Evolution which has a program that can time you in the 1/8th and 1/4 mile
