35 x 3.1416 = 109.956

35 x 3.1416 = 109.956 circumference is always pi X d

You should've been an engineer Dan...haha. I mean you're great at math, it would've been perfect for you.

You should've been an engineer Dan...haha. I mean you're great at math, it would've been perfect for you. Trust me bud… I've considered taking online classes to get an engineering degree. Timing just hasn't been right. Hard to find time for that when you work the hours I do and take care of a lil one. Maybe after he starts going to school. Hard to say what the future will hold. Wish I had a head on my shoulders when I was young like you do man. I was too busy living in the present instead of planning for the future. Haven't done bad, but could've been better if I wouldn't of screwed around so much. Keep at it man. It'll pay dividends in the long run.

2piR still works? The area of the tire is PiR squared and the volume of the wheel is the former times the tire width.....and....

35 x 3.1416 = 109.956

significant digits requirements would require rounding to 110....just messing around lol

I get it Dan, its definitely way more difficult to try and get back to school later in life. While I'm glad I'm doing it now, I wish I had lived a little more during the time I've spent so far. Passed up some opportunities I'll probably never get again, and we're only young once lol.

Just messing around....Don't make me explain why dividing by zero is undefined or the sq rt of -1.

Okay. Here is why you don't divide by zero: Take any number and divide by something close to zero; like 1/1,000,000. Hopefully we can agree that this one part of a million is close to zero. So one divided by one part of a million gives us a million. We should agree that the closer we get to zero, the larger our answer becomes and yes if we divide by zero, we do get infinity.

Unless you approach zero from the negative side by dividing by a small negative fraction. In which case it becomes negative infinity. That is the definition of undefined and why we don't divide by zero.

Then in calculus you figure out the tricks to dividing by zero to study the real world--lines on curves--not straight lines like algebra. One could also point out how calculus straightens out the lines.

Our next class is on the use of our imaginary friend square root of negative one...so stay tuned.
