It's not really involved. They come up just as easy as the coil packs do. I think I cleaned mine brake cleaner. And then before I put em back I lubed em up. I eventually changed them to a larger size. Is there a reason why u wanna pull em and clean em? I run zmax in my fuel every 6000 miles and they spray well. U can try that instead of doin all the labor if u feel something is wrong. Make sure you have a 1/4 tank of gas. Run it fer a bit. And u should b good

It is nice to do. I cleaned mine when my intake gasket had to be replaced. You'll need the fuel disconnect clips from VatoZone for like $10. While you're at it, do your fuel filter too. You unconnect both fuel lines going to the rail (don't forget to release pressure via the Schraeder valve), then pull the lines out. Unbolt the fuel rail, and they pop right out. Some residual fuel will drain out of the rail. You'll need to fab up a system (like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLuAVhVp44Y) and pulsate the insides. After that is done, pull all the O-rings and plastic off of them (while you are at the store, get new O-ring kits for them. The E10 gasoline eats the rubber. The kits are like $2/each) and clean around the base where the gasket was seated and the outside as well. When you are all done with the new O-ring kit back on, you should see 4 tiny holes.

I didn't get a picture of the new O-ring kit on there. Overall, my truck gained about ~20rwhp back after I cleaned both my upper and lower intake and cleaned the injectors. One was so gummed up that the nozzle was black and built-up with grime.

Well this should help for sure then. Clogged injectors will kill performance and mileage.

Hey Alex would you recommend using the same setup but putting some gasoline in it instead afterwards in order to wash out the brake cleaner? Somehow I feel that wouldn't be good for the engine squirting the leftover brake cleaner into it.

Of course. I "rinsed" mine with gasoline after scrubbing them with carb cleaner.

hows it killing you? Lmao

I burn a tank (~450ish miles) a week. I really really need to get a car.
