Well, after working non stop over the summer I've finally saved up enough cash to get some new headers. I got the JBA 1676s shorty headers (no long tubes, trying to stay Cali legal).

I'll be taking pics and making updates as I go....it's pretty hot today so I'll be taking lots of breaks

Nice. Had the same set. There great. I double sealed mine and never had a problem with leaks.

Well, I've been pluggin away slowly at this. It's about 90 degrees and 70% humidity in my driveway with no shade except for underneath the truck, so as you can imagine I'm sweating my B@LLS off...HOWEVER, on the bright side of things, this has given me the opportunity to finally use the sweet new jack I got for 75 bucks...lifts both wheels of my truck up easily with the lift kit! And it goes all the way down to 2.5 inches so I can use it for my Focus :)....

Unfortunately at this point I've run into a little snag. In order to get the clearance I need to get the passenger manifold out, I've got to be able to jack up the engine. However, the supercharger fits right up against the top of the firewall...making it impossible to jack up the engine without removing the blower....

http://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x330/FXd_up/Mobile%20Uploads/0815141126.jpg (http://s1176.photobucket.com/user/FXd_up/media/Mobile%20Uploads/0815141126.jpg.html)

So right now I'm taking a break to post this and cool off in the a/c, then I'm going to go make a sandwich, maybe play with my dogs, and THEN I'm going to crack open a cold beer and take off my supercharger

Good news, only had to take off the throttle body...

No manifold!

http://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x330/FXd_up/Mobile%20Uploads/0815141629.jpg (http://s1176.photobucket.com/user/FXd_up/media/Mobile%20Uploads/0815141629.jpg.html)

At this point I realized that the JBA kit doesn't come with new studs, only bolts for the areas that the studs won't be used. So I'm off to the store to get a set of new ones, as I don't plan on reusing the old ones.

I once had a 66 Mustang. They changed the law so that none of the smog stuff had to work, but it had to be there. I took all the rusted tubes and air pump off. I think our current Governor was running a business selling the stuff at the time. It seems like such a racket. The kit was like $600 back in the 80's.

California smog does suck....I wish they would bring back the rolling year for smog exemption but seeing as now I can get a ticket for leaving my hose on I the yard I doubt they're going to be forgiving on smog laws anytime soon

Got it back from the shop...WOW. This has definitely been one of the most worth while upgrades I've done. There is NOTICABLY more power up high, and I can actually hear the exhaust when I step into it rather than hearing a bunch of air whooshing into the intake. I went with two magnaflows, which in my opinion sound FAR better than the Flowmaster. Virtually no sound at idle, and a powerful throaty sound when I step into it.

(The truck still needs to be taken to the dyno, so right now it's got a rough idle when I start it cold. Also, the house next door runs a daycare, so disregard the screaming babies.)

They're just 3 inch tails with a turn down, no tips. I'd love some Raptor tips and to have it come out the side before the tire like a lightning, but that will be when funds are more available.

I'm 99% sure it's the tensioner....the chain likes to slap around whenever I'm sitting at a light or going through a drive through. And you're probably right about the coils. I had a couple go bad on me a while ago and I replaced them with some cheapo COPs, so they could be causing an issue. The problem is, the truck doesn't misfire when idling or when I'm driving, so I really don't know.
