Dodge Sucks, Chevy SwallowsI wouldn't mind changing the shade, but I think this one's it. I got told $1500 bucks for race red, not about to pay that when I can get this also nice red for about a 3rd of that. I think it'll really set her off though.

I'm soon gonna start taking off a few parts to repair where necessary, and get them primed up. the paint job will probably not be till next year, though fairly early. I'm hoping to get the lift in before too long

That's not a bad price, I wonder if mine would be close to that. Mine just has so many scratches and chips from the previous owner, along with a few of my own, touch up looks terrible now lol.

that'd be just for the paint itself, I'll be doing the work myself. I know what you mean, I got a slight tailgate dent and a barely noticeable ding around a front wheelwell. some little flares will cover that up. the tailgate I'll beat the dent out of through the removeable panel inside. I've been getting a lot of scratches lately and I have no clue where they're all from. pisses me off, I really can't guess where most are from. once the paint is done she'll get a clear protective coating all around. expensive, but I don't care. worth it to keep her from getting all scratched up.

yeah nothing cheap about it. you want a good paint job, you'll pay for it. gonna be an adventure as I've never painted a whole truck before, but I have a good deal of experience with partial painting, plus a phobia of letting someone I don't know at my truck, so I feel confident enough to save myself the money and gain that much more experience.

I'll be careful with that dent and hope for the best. I'm tempted to make a mesh gate for her anyway....I love the look of her with the gate down.

See the one on mine? I've not seen very many that haven't been replaced I think it's neat. Also on the frame if you look into the wheel well on the left side on the back you might see a Dsa sticker that days the build date :)

Sent from my iPhone using F150 Appyeah I try to take care of my vehicles best I can. at least the 04 was a nice starting point in that regard, this one needed more work to start off before maintenance. but worth it, and I like resto. my current plan is my lift and shocks next, then over winter (theres another thing keeping miles off her, I don't drive her in winter except very short runs to keep everything moving) I'm hoping to get some tires. then paint in spring. I'd like new rims eventually, but can't prioritize that.

a few things come up, but she is old lol. not that that's a bad thing in the least. I think she was very much worth the $4K

I've had the AC compressor lock up ( didn't know at the time ) on another forum a member said to floor it and start it then let off when it turns over (the AC compressor was locked ) it ate the belt and ripped off the belt tensioner and put a hole in a AC line ( just figured it out literally! ) and a then had to replace bank #3's coil and plug and cleaned the throttle body and replaced the fuel filter and changed the oil ( about 1,200 miles ago ) and I need to replace a valve cover gasket and the power steering pump and a window regulator and the CD player is jammed up ( still loaded with the previous owner's CDs :) )

I believe the PO put new and improved spark plugs and wires on mine. solid trucks. one other thing is the odometer works when it wants to and the stereo screen is gone out. common problem with these, but not serious thankfully.

IDK I wouldn't complain if it came back but it's part of her character to me now, been out since I got her. I do get annoyed with the intermittent odometer but I'm not tearing it apart unless it goes out fully
