03 door ajar light

My 03 door light has been acting up. I'll have the doors shut and the light stays on for about ten minutes with the dome light on then shuts off. And some times it flickers on and off. What do y'all think it could be and can i just bypass the switch?

Might just be a bad door switch bud. Don't go cutting up your wires til you check. Just my opinion.

Thats what i was thinking just wanted to see if anyone else had a similar problem and to make sure that's what it would be. Didn't want to hack at the wires unless i had to lol

Switches go bad after so many years and so many clicks, you should be able to replace it and solve the problem

I found a link that said to spray the latch with wd40 and so far it seems to be working. Hope it fixes it because that same site said its a costly fix

It's about an50/50 chance of working. I done it with success and some times needs a switch. Easy job tho. Takes about 20-30 min to swap the switch. (Coming from a rookie)
