The ac works great idling. But as soon as I start driving it starts blowing hot air.anyone have a clue what it might be.

Any popping noises or other sounds it makes when it switches from cold to hot?

I put an entire a/c system once. I know there was a throttle position sensor. Not sure know, but some things never change.

Hmmm, ok. Does your temp gauge move any or is it reading higher than normal? It sounds like an overheating issue almost then. Is the coolant level good?

Everything checks out perfect. As long as the truck is sitting still. Once you start driving it starts blowing hot air. If I stop and tern off the truck and start it back up it will blow cold tell I start driving.

Have you checked it when you idle up about 1200 rpm?

That's the weird part. I ran it up to 2000rpm and held it there for five minutes. It kept blowing cold.

It has something to do with driving down the road. I just can't figure it out.

What r the pressures readings u get on max AC and all the doors open.

Is that pressure with max AC and doors open ? How is the air flow across the radiator ?

Yes thats at max doors open at idle. Radiator and condenser are clean I am still running the stock clutch fan.

Well here's my 2 cents. The a/c has to build pressure in order to work. Does your high side line get hot? Does it freeze over and get frost on it? When cruising down the road you are changing two things... The amount of air flow across the condenser, and the rate at which your compressor in spinning ... But you said it stays cool when reving to 2k rpm so the only thing changing is the air flow. Your fan could be stuck. Pulling more air across the condenser and not letting the high side pressure rise. That combined with the wind while moving could keep your pressures too low to cool..

For being a little "slow" it sounds like you know a little bit....must have taken a long time. Lol

Sounds like a faulty sensor ( high/low pressure ) or orffice is plugged up. You can bypass them and drive to see if that eliminates them from the problem.

Nope still have figured it out. Now it only blowing hot all the time out the defrost and floor. I think its in the control. Not sure.
