Clutch problem?

Have a 1984 f150 300 i6 with a 4 speed tranny and when I'm driving I get up to about 1500 rpm and it feels like the clutch does like a pulse engage in ever gear starting at the same rpm but gets worse as I TRY to advance to 2000 rpm. Could anyone give me some ideas of what it might be???

How do you know its the clutch? Does it do it in every gear?

Drop the inspection plate from the bell housing. If you have metal pieces come out then you found your problem. Sounds like the pressure plate may be broken.

That would very much suck if that was broke. Lol
