I want to do a coolant flush and I want to know what brand is best for a 2003 Ford F150 5.4. Also would anyone recommend a flush chemical or straight water to clean it out? Thanks

Should be Motorcraft Premium Gold engine coolant, VC-7-B. That's what they use in the 05's at least. And only Motorcraft, these engines are picky. Also use a chemical flush because plain water contains minerals that will cause build-ups/clogs, and corrosion within the engine which will lead to coolant and ultimately engine failure. When you dilute the coolant with water to make it 50/50, use distilled water too to avoid the mineral deposits.

Lol @ Motorcraft only coolant.

You can use other stuff, I just use Motorcraft for most of my fluids and maintenance parts. They work the best for these engines.

As long as it's the right type, the adhesive sticker doesn't matter.

Everything else was pegged right on the money though.

I'd recommend so but you don't have to. If Prestone works for you then you can probably keep using it.

I heard Zerex G-05 is comparable to Fords requirements. Is this true?

I've never heard of that brand before so I couldn't tell you in all honesty.
