So my 2014 f150 has less than 2k miles on it... We threw a party the other night in which we were getting pretty rowdy in the quads.... My buddy wrecked mine and it quit running... So I pulled it out of the garage yesterday to get her running. Started looking around and noticed the plug wire came off... I hooked it back up, jumped on and pushed the start button. It fired right up....AT FULL THROTTLE!!! the throttle cable broke wide open and it took off. ... Stood straight up and wheelied right into the back of my new f150! Need a new tailgate, bumper, and paint... FML.

Holy ****. That sucks. I'd make your buddy help you out on that. Might be easier to pay a deductible and let insurance take care of it.

Yes. I'm paying the deduct. Just a used tailgate for this truck is $900

OMF! No way! If it makes u feel any better. Somebody hit mine as well. It's very minor compared to yours but none the less. I feel for ya pal. Your buddy must feel like crap. Just an all around shame

That's so strange, I did the exact same thing today like an hour ago. Except I made sure it wasn't pointing at my truck and out the door. Sure as hell it took off and did a wheelie out the door. Brakes burning to try and stop the thing.

That blows man, I just smashed in my tailgate last month and I was pissed, and my truck is almost 9 years old. I'd probably kill my friend for what happened to yours. It really does suck especially since your truck is brand new.

It isn't his fault. We were all drunk. Any one of us could have wrecked it. Just happened to be him lol.

Do we know each other? Around here we call this just another Tuesday. Seriously though everything you've said I've either done, dealt with, or am currently doing.

Mind.

Blown.

Sorry about that. I know it sucks, but it look at the most important thing--No one got killed or lost a finger and when it is fixed no one will ever know. I might check around on parts to minimize the out of pocket.

Ditto.

I went riding about 2 months ago with some friends. Using my parents two four wheelers and my friends Ranger. I was driving the Ranger plastered off my mind and a girl and a guy on my dads Rancher 420. Everyone is drunk as hell. It was fun as hell until I slammed on the brakes and chick face didn't know how to use the brakes. The guy riding on the back of the Rancher flew forward and landed in the bed of the Ranger. It was funny until the $500 bill to fix both.

I met with my insurance when someone broke in to steal my phone. They wrote me a check and when I was doing the repairs it didn't add up. I asked AAA to send me the estimate, so I could understand. Then they claimed they made a mistake and sent the other $300. Someone, I am respecting their privacy, claimed the adjusters have a way to pocket the difference. I don't know if that is true, but it certainly was not an honest mistake.
