How many miles do you have on your truck, or transmission if it's been replaced once before? And have you checked the transmission fluid lately?

Check your fluid level

It's got 149000 miles. I took it to the shop and they couldnt find the problem

They couldn't? Okay, so probably not fluid then lol. Well, explain what is happening then. It's automatic correct, not manual? And what is it doing, is it like jerking around? Is it indecisive in switching gears, like it shifts into a higher gear and then shifts back down into a lower gear constantly? Or when it shifts gears does it get like stuck in the middle of the shift for a few seconds?

Hey sorry for the late response. It will drop a gear very suddenly at a constant speed of 35 mph. It's automatic yes.

It sometimes won't shift out of first gear

Okay, so when driving 35, do your RPM's drop right before it downshifts, or does it just shift down and shoot up the RPM's just randomly? And if it's getting stuck in first gear, it sounds like a tranny problem as in the gears inside are messed up. Does it grind ever, or have really rough shifts? If so it may just be the transmission overall, you do have a lot of miles on it. But the shop should've caught that.

I'm about to turn over to 150000 miles. I heard grinding one time. But that was several months ago. The rpms do change when it drops a gear. They shoot about 300 rpm.

I don't know it's ever been serviced. The fluid is still red though.

I'd still do a service just to be safe, since it's a used truck correct? I'm going to service mine as I just hit 60,000, my fluid is still good but I'm still going to have it serviced.

Exactly, a lot of my friends wouldn't get Ford's because they said they have transmission problems. It's because they don't service them. Take care of your vehicle and it'll take care of you.

Yup. But there desiel tenants r the ish. Yours. Sucks. Trust me. Overheats. Slips. All kinds of crap. But ur right kid. Every 30k change the filter and fluid. But I'm nuts. I change everything by the book without fail. Lol.

Easy fix. Monster tourqe converter and. Shift kit!!
Problem fixed? Why do u ask. Cause that's what I did. And it's bullit proof now.

I was gunna say lol, stupid auto correct and I know it does haha. Eventually an upgrade, and that's what my owners manual says is every 30,000 so mine will be serviced shortly. Got a job tomorrow helping my girlfriend's dad install a industrial air filter for a metal work factory. Make some $$$ to pay for my s*** lol.
