With the big snow that just passed last week, I put the truck in 4 high to make it out to the main road on the way I heard a few popping Noises and then trying to go up a little bank it started making a grinding noise and would not re engage in 4 high. What could be the issue would it be the vacuum it's an 06 stx

It could b vacuume. Or it could b the fork that inserts into axle to engage it. I had that prob in my 03. Did it finally go back in? The grinding makes me think it's not vacume.

Have not tried it again was worried it would mess something else up
