So I have an annoying whistle coming from my vents when the fan is on high. Doesn't matter if the heat or ac is on but the higher the fan the louder the whistle. Please help cuz with that whistle the voices in my head are telling me to do bad things. Lol
Almost sounds like your going 70 with the window just barley cracked.

It sounds like something is inside the vents. Did you check all of them to make sure there isn't a piece of paper or other debris that might cause it?

Can you narrow it down to one? Or does it just sound like the noise comes from all of them at the same time?

They are all singing the same crappy song. Even the defrost whistles.

Maybe the cabin air filter is clogged? I'm just taking a guess.

----------

Never mind if the defrosters do it too since you can't use the cabin air filter with the defroster

I'm lost then, it would make sense if it was one or if something was in there making the noise. It sounds fan related but I have no idea how to diagnose that or check the fan. Bump for help guys.

We'll I am changing oil and filters to day. See if a new cabin filter fixes it. Thanks for the input fellas.

Random question, but I'm guessing you only have a cabin filter with higher trim level options or something? Because my XLT doesn't have one but I know the owners manual lists it for maintenance.

No it's for the lariat and up the new 09 and up FX trucks have it also my 03 had one optional but it doesn't but you can rig something up on them but the 04-08 I have no clue if you can make something I think the spot for the cabin air filter is inside the glovebox

I think I know what you're talking about because there's a box on the top inside when you open it on my '05. I'm not looking to add one, I was just curious is all.

Theirs not one on my 07 but theres an intake for recirculation of air from the cab look and see if something has sucked up in the vent? 2007 F150 XLT FX2 SPORT - 5.4l 3V 3.73 LIMITED SLIP EDGE/EVOLUTION PROGRAMMER

My 1998 Navi whistles too. Thought it was a design flaw of the vent wings.
