So after a terrible experience with Best Buy employees that were no help at all, I'm wondering what is the best kind of door speaker, 2-way, 3-way, or 4-way? I kinda understand the difference but not really so if someone could explain that too it would be great. Just inquiring so I can start pricing out my replacement door speakers. Thanks in advance!

IMO I like 3 ways. You get your highs. Your mids. And your lows. All rolled into one. I don't think I've ever purchased anything else lol.

Thats what I was thinking was the best, but then what does the 4-way speaker offer that the 3-way doesn't? Anyways, the 3-way Pioneer door speakers that would fit in my truck are on sale for like $40 a pair, not including the adapters and wiring harnesses, and I think the head unit I want is on sale for $100 too.

And what do you think with just the speakers Joe, great sound? I'm not planning on a sub or amps, so will I still have good sound? At least better than my stock setup with 2 blown rear speakers and no bass? Lmao.

Dude that's all I had in my 03 pioneer 250w 3 way speakers. Powered by my 40x4 head unit. They sounded great. And I mean great. I payed about the same on amazon. Got em in three days.

Sweet deal, I don't have extra space for a sub or amp lol so this'll be nice. Since the dumb@$$es at Best Buy couldn't help, what am I looking at to hook it all up. I know I need an adapter and wiring harness for the head unit, but what about the speakers? Same thing, adapter/harness, or just unplug the old and plug in the new?

Yeah, a mechanical engineer, not an electrical engineer lol. And so possibly a little splicing/soldering for the speakers then? Not too bad, hopefully when I get them, the geniuses at Best Buy can help me find the right stuff. Only reason I want to get it there is because it's on sale and I have a bunch of gift cards there.

Wiring harness from what ever radio (kenwood. Pioneer...) to ford truck and a installation kit. And you'll b good. Shrink tube. You'll b fine. Either or not rocket science. Have full faith in ya!

It'll be Pioneer for sure, both head unit and speakers. Great price and great quality. And shrink tube? What is that? Lol

The 04-08 already have the sub hook up you just have to cut the carpet a little to get to it if your worried about the wiring or do you just don't like bass?

RhinoZ24
01-29-2014, 11:18 AM
No, I like bass, but having the Supercab and not the Supercrew cuts down some space. I have a bunch of stuff under my back seats already lol. Just hoping to get some good sound out of just speakers.

The stock ford sub is $75 it's just plug and play and everyone says that it sounds awesome that's a great price for that sound. It goes under the back seat

----------

Oh I didn't see your answer until after I boated that but if you need that space under the seat then yeah a sub wouldn't fit

Does it come in a housing box too? And any idea what brand it is? Case to be honest that's a pretty good price compared to the ones I saw. And if it's already in a box designed to fit and just plugs in, I might just get it.

R u guys asking me if it is already wired? Cause to b honest. I really don't know. I had an 03 where the only cool option was the power rear slider. lol 04' was a diff body style. I don't have much experience with that gen. Did a couple tunes but that's it. Sorry I'm no help y'all

It's all good brother, I can ask the oh so bright people at Best Buy when I pick up my speakers lol.

Jersey_Joe
01-31-2014, 07:54 PM
Lol.

----------

But no harm in keeling back the carpet in the passenger side. I would bet it's in that side

RhinoZ24
01-31-2014, 08:33 PM
Actually on these model years I would think driver side. They put the jack-stand under the rear passenger seat right at the front of the seat, kinda limits space, and the middle raises up for the transmission. But anyway I'll see if I can find something underneath the driver side rear carpet.

There any easy way to tell? Is the wire hot? Could i see with a thermal image camera???

RhinoZ24
02-01-2014, 05:39 PM
Haha I don't think so, it's not being used so it shouldn't be hot. And one day Best Buy will have somebody there to help me in purchasing my speakers.

It's a 04-08 I know that for sure I think you have to cut a little of the carpet up I would look on you tube first to see if their is any videos of it.
