Can you put a 5.0 mustang engine in an f150 meant for a 5.0?

Yes you can, depending on if the years are similar. Might require some new motor mounts and wiring harnesses, and again depending on the year a few other things too.

Strip the mustang 5.0 down to the log block. Put all truck 5.0 dress and wiring harness on it. Drop in and fire it up..

Since like 78 all the 302s between mustangs and trucks have been same block, rotating assembly, heads.. Only differences are cams, and intakes. Fuel injected truck intakes are much much better than a stock mustang FI intake.
