I'm wanting to get bigger gears in my truck to go a little bit faster in 1st gear because I can only go like 5 or 10 mph. I want it to go at least 20 mph because I start out in 2nd most of the time and I hate it because I know I'm messing up my clutch. But how much would a new read diff be and what gear ratio should I get?

You don't have to get a whole new axle, you can just re-gear your current axle. What is your current ratio? And new gears should be around $400-600 depending on the gears. You can DIY if you have the tools or just have someone do it for a price.

Is your 1st gear "granny low"
I learned on my dads 70ish ford truck. It had a granny low for first gear. He always started out in second. He never had a problem with burning up the clutch.

Yeah. They don't make em quite that nice anymore lol. But yeah. Find out what u have. Google the code on the door. Or the stamped tag on your axle. Find what ya got. Then we can go from there

If it's a manual 4 spd it's got a granny low 1st in it.. Start out in second gear..

You maybe surprised about the rear gears being 3.08's probably..
