No disrespect ment looks to be an excellent job. The silo appears to be the type of controller with internal auger used on pellet smokers, i.e. http://www.traegergrills.com/shop/deals?gclid=CLjVt8TN-LoCFa5r7AodayAADw . The pellet pooper is just what some smokers refer to them as, for more references see: http://www.smokerbuilder.com you will find lots of good info there if you decide to build more in the future. I'm on there also, building a 250g oil drum into a reverse flow stick burning smoker. Calculator on there is great for figuring out the correct proportions of the cooker, this one is also good: http://www.feldoncentral.com/bbqcalculator.html

Project Manager / Design Engineer for a concrete reinforcing company. Got here I graduated HS and went to college while working for SEARS. Worked at SEARS for a couple years till I was the assistant manager of the auto center. Then started dating the bosses sister. ;) Decided I better move on and since I was about done with my degree I came to work for the company I am with today as an entry level design engineer. As of this month I have 6 years in the business with the company and am now a Project Manager over my own design team.

Actually I have a drafting and design degree. A "design" engineer makes work whatever an engineer comes up with. I started going to school to become a mechanical engineer but was turned off from it by a couple of my instructors. So now it is my job to make work what a structural engineer thinks will work.

RhinoZ24
12-26-2013, 01:28 PM
That's where I want to work and Ford actually has a design facility in Irvine, CA, about 30 miles from where I live. I'll have to wait until next year when I'm a junior for internships to open up to me.

btoolguy1
12-26-2013, 01:32 PM
Thats the way to do it- get ur foot in door. All the ford engineers i have met or talked to are ford fanatics. The own fords, race ford, and want to work with fords. No many companies like that anymore! Work hard and get ur internship there and you may work 30 years and retire from there.

After I graduated a full time job with benefits and everything came available at the school and I took it. 15 dollars hr starting out to clean toilets sounded better than turning wrenches for 9 or 10. Our generation has to be about the laziest and dumbest generation to date. I'm ashamed many times to be a part of it the way I see people I know going. That's why I'm glad my parents were a little older than most and that they taught me to work for stuff myself.

I'm with you two on that. My parents were young, but the still taught us work ethic. When I was 6 or 7 I wanted a globe and I asked for it a few times after being told no, I asked if I could get a job or do extra chores or something to earn the money. I still have the globe to this day it lights up :) I'm not as young you two or at least not you Ryan but my generation is full of lazy dumba*s too

Just started my 22yr., as a maintenance technician with the USPS. Kind of a jack of all trades, master of none job, we work on all the mail sorting machines. Electrical 480V and down, hydraulics, computers, conveyors, fabrication of parts, welding and now baby sitting of the new hires that want to collect a paycheck but do nothing to earn it.

Its sad but true. I'm trying to figure out were the wide spread intitlement issues came from I know some of it comes from people spoiling the crap out of their children, but the amount of lazy selfish people has gotten out of control.

Very true I'm a strong believer in discipline. I'll I have to say to my son is do you want to go to time out and he stops what he's doing cause hates time out. He ask for chores to get more money for toys he wants.

Hey everyone I too feel there are a lot of lazy people in the modern day and age. I would love to blame the parents as much as the next person but I think it mostly due to all our technology. Kids never go outdoors any more and they never do anything hands on. I come from a rural part of Nova Scotia canada and I'm proud to say I went outside and played a lot as a kid. Hunting fishing hockey baseball soccer and a lot of different things. But now a days kids are plugged into computers or game systems or on their cellphone or staring at the tv for so many hours every day that they have no grasp of the world outside. I have tried as a father to get my 12 year old daughter outside and I have been truly rewarded. She know work and if you want something you have to earn it. My advice, get kids to in plug it'll do them a world of good even if they hate it at first.

I agree that technology plays a part my son is allowed only a certain amount of tv time but he doesn't mind cause he loves playing outside. We play baseball and a bunch of made up games. When I was a kid we had dirt and just a few toys so I usually just played in the dirt and would make my own toys out of stuff I found outside. I think its really good though that you got your daughter to play outside despite her not wanting too and that she knows stuff has to ve earned. So kudos to you for that.

Technology will literally be the downfall of our society. People expect machines to do everything for them and when they break they have no idea how to help themselves, even for the simplest of things. It is sad, I'm glad my parents kinda gave me a tough love kind of childhood.

Glad there's still people in this world to relate to I though I was alone! It took me years to find a girl my age that was raised the same and shares the same values/ interest as me. First one to ever wanna bale hay and split firewood with me that means something!. Yea I look at all these people that are making really good money but when i think about it I'm further ahead in life because they have to pay everyone to things for them all they can do is push a pencil so to speak lol

And Jeremy your right about being further ahead then those pencil pushers good relationships are way more valuable then a bunch of money. Love and happiness can't be bought.

At the moment I work at drug and alcohol testing compliance services and on June 1st I am enlisting in the Army as a 91B wheeled vehicle mechanic. Then when I retire I plan on either opening my own shop or going to work for a classic performance shop and rebuilding a few cars of my own and racing some drags and get a few sponsors. Every car shall be a ford except for a random chevelle that I want to put the '71 tail lights in a '68 chevelle because I like the '71s double tail lights but I love the '68 everything else haha

Quick question for you guys. I've got a guy with a 04 f150 with the 4.6l. He just had all the plugs changed and one of the coil packs is acting up so he asked me if I'd be interested in changing them soon. 1. What would you charge for labor. 2. Is it the same general task as my 02 was? Getting to them I mean? Thanks

As for price Idk, but if your '02 was the 4.6L it should be just about the same. Just unscrew the COP and disconnect it from the connectors, take the new one and put some di-electric grease on the end that goes on the plug and install it.
