Hello. My friend just bought a 1979 f250 and we were bleeding his brakes and on the front right rotor there was a weird pattern. There where two even grooves all the way around the rotor. Perfect circles and smooth as can be. Not sure if it's just a style of rotors or something wrong because it was the only one that looked like that. Thanks for the help!

Possibly the pads wore down too far in the past and the rivets cut grooves into the rotor.

That would be the only explanation I could give as well yust have them turned if needed and re-pad?

Do we need to replace the rotor or do you think new pads would be enough?

Could.have caught a rock in the pad and that cut the grooves. Depends how deep they are. Personally i would spring for new rotors just to be safe

If you have a pulsating pedal when you hit the brake then turn them if not then don't . If the rotor looks thin where groves are then replace it!

Definitely recut or replace the rotor or else the brake pads will wear with those grooves in them and scream every time you brake.
