My 94 4.9 straight 6 won't start. It seems like its not getting fuel. I put in a new fuel pump, 140.00. The pressure relief valve lets out a lot of fuel when purged. I can start the truck with starting fluid. I know I have 1 bad injector. Are there any relays or sensors that might b bad???Please help.

Does the truck remain running after using the starting fluid? And are u getting any white exhaust smoke while cranking? And what's your battery conditions like?

It only runs when starting fluid is sprayed continuously. It doesn't smoke. I just had the battery charged and tested, it's good.

Did u change the fuel pump because it wasn't getting fuel? Or for another reason

I guess because I had more money than sense. It was a gut feeling I had. A wrong one obviously. There was chance that someone put something harmful in my fuel tanks. I was just ruling it out.

Yes but it doesn't shut off. Eventually after trying to start the truck it does stop pumping.

Fuel injection or carburated?

Fuel injected. Already replaced fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, and fuel filter. A friend of a friend just came by with injector tester. Looks like it may be a bad electrical signal to injectors. Going to test with voltage meter tomorrow.

It was a bad ground wire on inner fender.
