I want to make my truck sound louder and deeper. What is the difference between cat back and true dual straight pipe? Are there any good kits available besides Gibson and Flowmaster? Also what size piping should it be?

Cat back is just an exhaust system from the catalytic converters back, as in it starts after the cats. True dual straight piped can be one of 2 things, it can start after the cats as well or you can delete the cats and have straight pipes without a muffler (hence straight piped). You will lose torque if you straight pipe it. Deleting cats will make it a little louder but again you lose torque, and torque=get up and go and with your other posts of wanting a lift and bigger tires you're going to want as much power as possible to get moving. If you're after loud then Flowmaster is as loud as it gets. Other system with a nice tune are Magnaflow and Borla, if you want to spend a lot of money then you can go for a Banks system.

Keep in mind you will need O2 stimulators to debug the O2 sensors if you cat-less or else you'll get a CEL

I went with flowmaster's american thunder series. Its loud and you get dual outlets. Depending I. How you place the outlets determines how loud you perceive it in the cab. Mine is at a 60° out both sides by the bumper. Good sound in cab and out.

Borla or magnaflow..

No kit.. Just get exhaust shop to do custom pipes that are mandrel bent all the way back from cats..

Magnaflow. Full stainless mandrel bent cat back. Deep but not obnoxious to me. Probably bugs pedestrians in town though, bouncing off the buildings.

I'm not kissin and tellin anything for awhile on my 5o. Once I get a 5o mustang. I'll have it all ironed out by then. I just like to keep things to myself. In the past... You tell someone what u did. And two weeks later there are 4 of it drivin down the road. I just keep to myself and enjoy the omg face when u get served by a 7 thousand lbs 4 door 4x4 pick up. Makes your day sometimes. Sometimes.
