Who's from Canada with ecoboost ? Wondering how your is handling the winter

So far so good. I had Michelin ms2 's put on it and it seems to be handling pretty good. I live in Calgary and we just got a dump of snow the other day. Haven't heard anything good about those Pirelli scorpion tires, a few guys at work have EB's and they hated those tires. My 2012 platinum came from the dealership with a vibration in the rear end and ford found the tires to be causing it so they paid to replace them. All good now though. I don't have a far drive to work ,maybe a ten minute drive so I'm averaging around 16/17 LP100kms. I have 8600 Kms on it. Have you had any issues with yours so far?

In getting about 15.5 with mine. Was doing way better before the fuel companies switched to winter gas. I think that's the difference. Was getting around 13 l/100 klm in summer time driving around town.

Mine's currently getting from 14.3 to 15.2 driving about 50 to 100 klm a day in and around Calgary. A couple variables include pulling a small trailer occasionally and I'm playing around with a tuner. The cold air intake and exhaust have been changed all in the hopes of achieving fuel mileage that's a little closer to Fords elusive claim of 32 mpg. Even without the trailer and taking it easy back and forth to Drumheller, my best mileage was about 23 mpg or 12.2 litres per 100 klm. While I'm not expecting 32 mpg, I am expecting mileage in the high twenties. I wish I knew what that would take.

I don't know where you got or heard 32 mpg from, but Ford only claimed 16 city and 22 highway mpg (18 combined and thats with the 4x2, the 4x4 is less) with the ecoboost, its on their website too. So if you got 23 mpg then that's pretty good, you're not going to get much better than that. Your mileage is good anyways. And you realize the highway driving is tested at about 55-60mph, so much slower and more fuel efficient than most people drive, just saying.

And here's the window sticker from my truck. The reference to 32 mpg is from a 2013 commercial. Granted, it could well be referring to non 4 x 4s. However, in my case, I think I should be able to get a little closer to 30 mpg than the best I've gotten on a good day.

What kinda gets me is the dealer said the fuel mileage will improve at about 7500 klm. Then they said 10,000 klm followed by 25,000 klm. I did finally find one owner, and only one, who claims he's getting around 30 mpg after he reached 40,000 klm. He even claimed he has a heavy foot. So I don't think my expectations are out of line. Also just saying. :-)

Ford Canada messed up, the official Ford website which I checked yesterday says 22 and that's a 4X2, the 4x4 is less. Maybe they made a mistake or something converting the units. There is no way you're going to get 31mpg normally, not yet at least.

Here's a link to all the F-150 specs for 2013, with the Ecoboost included, take a look at it.

And another to compare the 4x2 and 4x4 mpg.

No doubt, based on those specs, those canuckian adverts should be pulled. Where is truth in advertising when we need it.

This is what I got today travelling at a steady 120 klm per hour, so I guess I should be happy based on the correct specs. But do feel I've been deceived. I will most certainly do more due diligence on any future claims made by any sales rep or commercial.
