My 1998 f150 will scratch gears when I put it in reverse I have plenty of tranny fluid I make sure the clutch pedal is all the way down. New ceramic clutch too.

You may have a synchronizer going out. Therefore when you shift to reverse the shaft that isn't spinning hasn't gotten a chance to catch up to the engine speed yet before you shift.

I have new synchronizers but it could be a faulty one though it doesn't every now and then

Could very well be. All you can do is trouble shoot and try your theories. Hope this site can get ya the help you need to get it taken care of ;)
