Without a tow package, you are limited to 5,000lbs. But to correctly answer your question, you need to give us more info (engine/trans/wheelbase). Page 195 of the first link in the above search will give you exact number.

Safely? About what the manual says. However, I'm in farming.....I've seen over 30K on a 99 F-350 with the 7.3L.....I think it's rated for 15-18k......not recommended lol. Now everyone is going to hate me haha. We hauled my 04 F-150 on a 3k pound trailer with my Dad's 08 5.4L and it did great, he's just got the standard tow package....did great even on hills on I-5 in Oregon.
