    84 ford f150 351w trying to start when jumped.

    Every time I try to jump it. It try's to start. Does anyone know what could be causing this.

    Jump other people or when you try to jump start it? Lol

    Has it been sitting long? Could be a gummed up carb

    If you put fresh gas in and no u got good fuel pressure... Then sounds like timing is off! You can try turning distributor a little advance or retard to see if this is it. If that doesn't get no where try bringing #1 up TDC and pull plug. Use a straw or similar to stick in cylinder while rotating crank to see exactly where piston stops traveling ang then look at timing marks... Might be off few degrees... If so replace timing chain!
