Hi everyone!!! I just bought a 2014 Supercrew with a 302 cubic inch V-8 engine in it and since the owners manual gives very little information about a break in period I was curious about how other people broke in their new engines

I just got my new 5.0 and was told to drive 500 miles at normal driving and drive 1000 miles before towing anything. Not sure what normal is but I've just been getting up to speed respectively and haven't drove over 65mph.
^. Other than u. He has the newest one.
Ha. Just looked at the date lol
For me, the general consensus on a "break in" means thorough driving throughout the RPM range. From idle to red line. That is my take on it. Of course, you should follow what your owners manual states
4.2L V6 - M5OD | SCT XCal 3 @ JawsRacing | K&N Series-77 | 16" Dual Efans | Magnaflow High-Flows
50W 5000K FX-R Projectors | Philips LumiLED Taillights | 60" Plasmaglow Fire & Ice | 2" Drop Shackles
I haven't heard any restrictions on break in or to change the oil early. Mine has 1600 on it. I will change it soon. I don't see any reason to go wot until later, but you are not going to hurt it.
Test drove with 5 miles on it and bought it at 20 and was told to break her in for 500 miles at normal driving conditions and run a 1000 at normal before towing a load, never did they bring to a certain speed and it prob doesn't matter anyway about speed cause they are governed to 96 anyway but I will follow there suggestions until break in. Got 300 on her so far and loving it.
