Have a 1984 f150 300 i6 and I need to change the oil in it soon but I don't want to pay someone to do it. I know this might be a stupid question but how many quarts go into it?

One quick google search and the answer depends on your oil pan. It should be 5-6 quarts of oil and a new filter. Try 5 quarts and see where the level is at on your dipstick, if it's low fill it until its in the proper operating range.
My old 1996 302 took six quarts so can't be far from that
I believe that my '82 was 5 qts and so was my '88 or 6 ? Just start with 5

6 qts.. No other amount.. Make sure to use a quality oil and filter.. Motorcraft filter is best 4 dollar filter on market.. FL1A..
