Look closer. Those #'s are only over a 5 min span. Best I ever did on a 20 mile trip in my EB was 28.9. Which is great, but also a lot downhill and with the wind pushing me.

I have a 2013 5.0 and although I only have 500 miles on it so far I've been getting 20.8 on the highway which I'm happy with.

There really isn't much of a "break in period" for newer vehicles. The last 2 I had I played nice for the first 1000mi then let her rip. I've read of people taking their new car or truck to the track the nite after they buy it and hammer down. Then those same people have upwards of 100,000 without a single issue to speak of.

I have to concur with Danny. I drove my mustang from the factory and while on the road trip I hit 3 race tracks. Including the local track witch is 3 miles away. My truck? I put a svt crate motor with all there trimmins and they said to put a 1000 miles on it before you open her up. Now nothing in all my paper work gave a written explanation on how to break in the motor. But I did an oil change at 500 miles and 1000 miles. And every 3000 afterwards. The boys from ford were happy. Break ins? If u wanna keep it forever. Be gentle to a 1000. After that she's like a puppy. Run her. Don't b skerrrd lol
